Thank you for this list! My sister asked me why I voted for Trump and I didn’t even know where to start because the list is sooooo long…this is a big help. I’d add to it:

Biden et al abandoning our people and equipment in Afghanistan and precipitating the Russian invasion of Ukraine by that show of incompetence and weakness.

Vaccine mandates and the lack of evidence supporting their necessity, with the CDC lying about their preventing the spread.

Biden Admin pressuring social media to remove or suppress content it didn’t like and attempting to set up a federal department to suppress free speech.

Prosecuting whistleblower at Houston Methodist Hospital for reporting that the hospital was continuing to perform gender mutilation surgery on minors.

Unconstitutionally prosecuting and imprisoning ProLife activists for praying next to abortion clinics.

I could go on and on.

This is even less about Trump and more about how the democrats/progressives have gaslit the American public and somehow we are supposed to just accept it because....the fact is it didn't need to be Trump. Any republican would have won the election. But this speaks truth to power that if the democrats dont get their house in order they will simply keep losing elections.

None of this is new. The ideology of "truth is subjective" and "nobles lies" is full of people who are quite convinced that they should tell noble lies because they believe their fellows' noble lies.

Let me add. Attacking women as “uneducated” if we are Republican. ALSO Calling us :

DEPLORABLES

GUN WORSHIPPERS

WHITE SUPREMACISTS

Clinging to religion

Islamaphobes

Handmaiden Tale supporters

On and on…

White suburban women are supposedly incapable of independent thought or action—hey, they vote how their husband tells them to.

All of it was insulting.

I tried to understand the legitimate fears of women and loss of personal power and authority over one’s future. We have only had the vote for the last 100 years. Abortion was only legal since Roe v Wade in 1972. But now legal abortion is threatened by ultra liberals wanting to take all the safety rails off abortion…making pregnancy completely elective without any regard for the viable child, acting as if it has NO RIGHTS, even after birth.

We are seeing a portion of feminists move toward acceptance of murder and infanticide. We are not China, operating in a male preferred society on the One Child rule, forcing abortions, killing newborns at birth. How is that a good idea?

These same liberals would like to make assisted suicide more widely available, and euthanasia of people commonplace. Feel safe to get old or incapacitated? Can you trust your loved one not to be opportunistic or for the government to seek its own way? Hey the guardrails loosened significantly during COVID in UK and Canada. Defacto euthanasia is happening…without knowledge or consent of the patient. That’s murder.

So many things are wrong with the premises and underpinnings of the Democratic Party and it’s bloody history and association with slavery, segregation, Jim Crow, discrimination, eugenics, rejection of Christian norms and values, antisemitism.

I grew up among Democrats in the Midwest, but my family was mostly white Republican…pro business, pro freedom, anti union, Protestant, and abolitionist. And despite my family being against racial mixing/marriage, they absolutely were against violence to attack such persons or hindering anyone’s opportunities on the basis of color or religion. They admittedly were a bit scared of a Catholic President, but got over it quickly. They trusted him to put our country first, and represent all of America. They actually like JFK on operation. But I was 6 when the controversy of school busing arrived at my door in 1972. They hated Biden.

I had friends that were Catholic, and friends that were not white. Everyone was welcome in my home, and I was not barred from their homes. So, maybe my family had some biases and prejudices to overcome, but it was an ongoing conversation, and did reform over time. People do change. People can examine issues and keep what makes sense and reject what isn’t true or doesn’t work.

So, to the original poster— I congratulate you on using your own mind, doing your own research, and reaching YOUR OWN conclusions!

We need to start talking to people and stop judging by labels or assuming they agree with everything the party they vote for. I know very few people that agree with everything. I don’t agree with everything Trump is doing right now…and alot of that is because of process and methods employed.

I think some programs are being unfairly attacked. We need to keep what is good and protects people and helps us, control wasteful spending, and reduce excessive regulation.

There are days that I wondered if our government planned to carbon tax humans just like the cows…might have to pass on that black bean corn and spinach salad! If I toot, don’t know if I can afford to pay! Lol

Expand full comment
CStone's avatar

Another question: WE the PEOPLE, the taxpayers are PAYING for those programs, without asking us if WE are willing to do so.

I’m assuming you are pro choice as well. If I am wrong, I apologize.

But I should NOT have to pay for someone to murder their offspring.

And where were pro-choicers when it came to the deadly shot?

I don’t want my TAXES to be used for charity. I am more than willing to give to families whom I KNOW to be suffering. To give to entities when I KNOW the monies are not building mansions for the administrators.

The government exists SOLELY to provide such infrastructure as the taxpayers need and for our defense. Not as an entity to enrich public SERPENTS.

I am pro life…but I also recognize that people who do not share my values will go underground to accomplish these abortions. More deaths, more harm.

I want abortion to be tightly regulated and treating the medical procedure as the serious matter it is. It is not a casual thing. And these doctors need to be able to meet a standard of care, having admitting privileges to hospitals, if necessary. If it is truly women’s healthcare, let’s actually provide care in a quality facility prepared to address complications. They don’t WANT TO SPEND THE MONEY! They just see women wanting abortions as $$$ sitting in a waiting area!

Planned Parenthood has no interest in “choice” for women…to support healthy childbearing, pregnancy, breast care, or OB GYN clinical services for all women at all stages of life. They are chasing the cash cow created by a culture of death. There is a fundamental deception about this industry…that it is really “helping and protecting women”; I believe it is actually harming women.

There would NOT be more deaths. You do realize that 1.5 MILLION BABIES are being murdered using fake arguments, like the one you used.

Also. The Social Security audit. Do you realize that over 500,000 illegals are receiving SS?

I am on SS. It is my ONLY source of income, and I resent that people who have never paid a dime keep me from getting a cost-of-living raise. I also know that if I had been able to invest that money myself, I would be receiving more in interest per m on both than I receive from SS. I want my children and grandchildren to be able to go just that. SS needs to be gradually phased out, and it can be done without affecting the elderly.

The demonicRATS use this as a scare tactic EVERY SINGLE ELECTION CYCLE. I know this for a fact, as they have used it since the 60’s. It’s the only way they can win, as they do not know how to ‘build’ anything. All they know how to do is kill, steal and destroy.

(I’m using all caps for emphasis. If I was yelling I would use them throughout my comments). So, if SS were taken off the table as a political thing, then the RAT Party wouldn’t be able to use it to manipulate old people.

This is a spiritual battle. Good vs Evil. And demons are very angry that Good actually won a round. They have used child sacrifice for millennia. They use fear and our media sold out to these demonic entities who are now embedded in the bureaucracy, as well as the demonic politicians.

It’s a shame that people are unwilling to see that.

Fellow Texan here. I live two hours from the border, across the street from a train track in a semi- rural area. My in-laws were landlords for a low income trailer park in Mississippi for several years, and have sponsored two immigrant families, one of which came here illegally.

Stuff I've seen:

- a tiny one bedroom house with a bunch of tarps hung in the backyard that I drove by every week caught on fire and burned down. We found out that it had been a grossly overcrowded house for men working here illegally. The tarped areas in the back were likely tents.

- there was a three or four months stretch where I literally could not leave my house without seeing a line of people on the side of my street being detained by Border Patrol. It was also common to see helicopters up looking for people in the fields, and once or twice a border patrol agent used our driveway to park in as they got out and looked for people by the tracks.

- two men who came in via the tracks and were fleeing the police broke into the same room my kids were playing in. Luckily the police got there nearly at the same time and subdued them in my kitchen by body slamming them to the floor and putting them in a submission hold (in front of my kids).

That was all post Biden being elected.

My in-laws were working as landlords when Obama was in office, and lived in the town where, until possibly this last Trump raid, the biggest ICE raid in history went down. They personally knew families who got deported.

They also never wanted for good tenants -- the immigrant community in the area knew that they were one of the very few landlords who actually kept their properties to a livable standard. Slum lords are very, VERY common, and they don't maintain their properties, keep them in safety code, or keep them in any sort of repair. After all, who would they complain to-- the police?

Oh, and the people getting them to the US? The cartels. Who, as part of their price, rape the women they're smuggling in. Look up what a "rape tree" is. Or what happens when men and women get dumped by said cartels on a desolate ranch on the South or West Texas border...so many bodies have been found. Or the sheer amount of unaccompanied children and infants found on the banks of the Rio Grande. They're getting treated as less than human on the journey here, and once they get here as well.

Open borders essentially leads to a permanent underclass that can be perpetually exploited for cheap labor, and kept in inhumane conditions. And I saw things get worse, on multiple levels, when Biden essentially capitulated to the cartels (Border Patrol isn't even allowed to shoot down their drones...on OUR side of the border!!) and enabled the exploitation to continue (and get worse) rather than trying to actually fix the problem in any way, shape, form, or fashion.

This is one of those.

Slumlord (noun): Someone whose rent is $600/month and whose tenants do $3,000/month in damage, who has finally learned that if he repairs the damage he'll need to do it again every month forever. He can't get rid of his tenants because the government won't let him.

Slumlord (noun): Someone who refuses to replace appliances or fix things because, "Hey, it's better than where they came from, and who are they going to complain to anyway?"

My in-laws actually started seeking out Latino immigrant families to live in their properties because they were tired of replacing crap and fixing up houses after other types of tenants lived there. I also know another family who landlords-- there are definitely certain demographics that trash properties and make landlords lives a living h-e-double hockey sticks, but in my in-laws experience, Latino families weren't one of them.

I suppose it's worth saying that this mainly all took place BEFORE Covid, too. I recognize crap changed after that point.

This is obviously a US-centric list, but the Western left as a whole has been going down this route for ten to twenty years now. The moderate left used to genuinely be about helping the disadvantaged and creating a fairer society, but a decade or two ago, it became convinced that Western civilisation is uniquely evil and needs to be totally destroyed from the foundations up.

They know they would never win elections if they were open about this, so they lie and use bland, "nice"-seeming frontmen like Joe Biden and Keir Starmer to cover their real intentions. When they get into office, they start promoting much more radical ideas, including open borders, divisive identity politics, extreme trans ideology in schools, sports and prisons, support for Islamists in the name of "multiculturalism" and online censorship.

People use the term "low-information voters" to dismiss those who have woken up to this, but it's those who still think we're living in the era of Bill Clinton and Tony Blair who are lacking awareness (the roots of this ideology were present even in the Clinton/Blair era, but still some way from the extremes we see today).

Effective summary of all things rotten in Democrat-Land.

I enjoy the company of the cousin with whom I will be staying through the inauguration. She has entrenched fly off the handle TDS. The worst afflicted in my orbit are retired or nearing that who still believe that the D party is what it once was (although I’m wondering whether that ever was). They unquestioningly drink mainstream media and are clueless about anything outside of that.

It’s going to be an exercise in restraint these next few days. Can’t talk about it with her. Pull the string and the most obvious of the propaganda comes out, and she won’t allow any alternative explanation.

The most prevalent form of bigotry in our time wears neither white sheets nor brown shirts … it wears the royal robes of self-righteous condescension that classifies its neighbors as “infants, imbeciles, and domestic animals” (as C. It is condescending bigotry to not expect one’s neighbor to act responsibly.

Actually. The democrat party is what it has always been.

They started and funded the KKK. When that was outlawed, they wrote the Jim Crow Laws and murdered over 3,000 men, women and children before the Republicans could get the legislation written and passed to stop them.

They still fund the KKK(which

has gone underground), ANTIFA, BLM and other terrorists organizations.

They support abortion and have seen to it that abortion facilities are built in the middle or on the ‘edge’ of every black and brown community in the nation. I am 70 years old, grew up in the South, I am white…..and believe me, the RAT Party just put on masks and fooled people into believing they were the ‘good guys’. They haven’t changed, they just took off their masks.

Not to mention the required DEI professional development we had to endure. 😅

I also appreciated your article explaining why you left your Episcopal church. I began attending an Episcopal church after wading into Christianity briefly. The sermons felt more like political rallies so I left. I’m hoping to try other denominations but i remain skeptical!

Well, Penny, I stopped being liberal 25 years ago when spouse and I bought our house near a dicey corner in Flatbush. It was the late 1990s, and all over Brooklyn, commercial avenues were reverting back to their pre-1968 look -- cleaner, with nice shops. But it didn't happen for ours.

Mind you, I've lived in Brooklyn over 70 years and remember when we didn't lock the front doors of our houses at night. I even remember that in the 1950s, everyone in our apartment building kept their doors open in summer so that we could catch cross-breezes.

On my block, I saw black people acting badly in more ways than you can imagine. Don't ask. When 20-40 gathered to have an all-night party in front of the corner barbershop, the cops were powerless to stop them.

Most nights, it was just the drug dealers and frisky teenagers who shouted until 3 AM, calling one another by that word that's verboten to whites. And there I was getting up at 5:15 AM to go to work and teach "To Kill a Mockingbird" and talking about the evil of THAT WORD.

Oh, the block has gotten better. New people, Asians and Pakistanis, are quieter. But one always waits for other shoe(s) to drop.

Black Lives Matter? Don't make me laugh.
